NO SMOKING POLICY OF FPT UNIVERSITY

1. Purpose

FPT University is committed to providing a safe, healthy, and sustainable learning environment for all students, faculty, staff, and visitors. Since 2006, the university has implemented a comprehensive No Smoking Policy to protect community health, promote well-being, and contribute to environmental sustainability. This policy aligns with Vietnam’s Law on Prevention and Control of Tobacco Harms (No. 09/2012/QH13) and is consistent with Directive No. 56/2007/CT-BGDDT issued by the Ministry of Education and Training, which strictly prohibits smoking in classrooms and workplaces within educational institutions. The policy is reviewed and updated annually, most recently in 2025, to ensure its continued alignment with national health regulations and the university’s sustainable development goals, as stated in the FPT University SDG Policy – Chapter IV, Article 22: “No smoking, including electronic cigarettes, on FPT University campus.”

2. Scope of Application

This policy applies to all FPT University campuses nationwide, covering both indoor and outdoor areas such as classrooms, laboratories, dormitories, cafeterias, offices, parking lots, sports facilities, and green spaces. It is applicable to all members of the university community, including students, faculty, staff, contractors, and visitors present on campus.

  • The sale, distribution, or promotion of tobacco products is not permitted on campus grounds.
  • The university encourages all members of its community to maintain a clean-air environment and model healthy behavior.
