FPT University is committed to providing comprehensive and equitable access to education for the wider community, not only for its enrolled students (as stated in FPT University’s SDG Policy [Chapter VIII – Article 36 B) Ensure universal, equitable, and comprehensive access, promoting the mission of inclusive education and lifelong learning for community].
To achieve this, the University offers a range of free learning resources, platforms, and facilities for community members, non-university learners, and disadvantaged groups in society.
The University also supports lifelong learning for alumni and individuals who did not pursue higher education.
1. Provision of Free Coursera Online Learning Accounts
Coursera is a global online learning platform that offers internationally accredited academic lectures. Learners have access to lectures taught by leading professors and course materials curated by top universities worldwide. Coursera’s programs cover globally in-demand fields such as digital literacy, entrepreneurship, English language skills, artificial intelligence, and information technology. Upon completion, learners receive globally recognized certificates.
FPT University has signed an MOU with Coursera to provide the most suitable package for both internal and external learners in FPTU. Since 2022, the University has provided free Coursera accounts to its alumni, enabling them to continue lifelong learning immediately after graduation.
- In 2024, FPTU granted 2,701 free Coursera accounts to alumni, an increase of 3.5 times compared to 2023.

Thanks to its outstanding implementation of online education and its positive impact on learners and the wider community, FPTU has consistently received awards from Coursera.

2. Access to Open Digital Resources
The FPTU digital library platform: library.fpt.edu.vn provides free public access to academic resources such as research articles and annual bachelor theses of FPT University students.
Additionally, anyone can register to access and use computers, Wi-Fi, and on-site reading spaces at FPTU libraries completely free of charge.

3. Public Lectures and Open Online Webinars
FPTU has launched initiatives to bring artificial intelligence (AI) education to the community, including free online courses on basic AI and the application of AI in teaching and learning at the K-12 level.
- In 2024, more than 18,000 participants joined FPTU’s online and in-person AI programs.
- Beginning in early 2024, recognizing the global rise of AI, FPTU launched a campaign to ensure that the Vietnamese community—especially youth—is not left behind in the global technology race. Through free seminars and hybrid online-offline AI training, the campaign has served tens of thousands of participants, particularly those working in the education sector.
These programs helped learners gain foundational AI knowledge and provided practical training to apply AI immediately in classrooms and workplaces to increase productivity and efficiency.
FPTU’s free AI training programs for the community have significantly enhanced its reputation as a leading technology university in Vietnam.

4. Creating learning spaces for the community
Community learning space at Thu Duc Book Street, Ho Chi Minh City
In alignment with its mission to promote lifelong learning and expand educational opportunities, FPTU launched an initiative to create a public learning and technology exploration space located on Thu Duc Book Street.
This unique space is designed inside an old metro carriage and is expected to become a weekly destination where local youth come to explore science and technology.

“Reaching Books to Rural Communities” Program in Vinh Long Province.
FPTU faculty and students participate in organizing the monthly “Chạm sách miệt vườn” (Touch the Books in the Countryside) program in Vinh Long Province, bringing books and reading culture to local residents and students in the Mekong Delta region.
The program has successfully run eight consecutive editions, introducing a new educational and cultural experience to remote rural communities.

Through these diverse initiatives—combining digital platforms, free online resources, training programs, and physical community spaces—FPT University actively promotes educational equity and contributes to expanding access to knowledge at both local and national levels.
