NUMEROUS EDUCATIONALLY MEANINGFUL EVENTS AND PROJECTS OPERATED DIRECTLY BY FPT UNIVERSITY STUDENTS HAVE BEEN BROUGHT TO THE COMMUNITY

1. Bringing Books and the Love of Reading to Children in Vinh Long Province

“Thu vien miet vuon” – The Garden Library – is a reading space located inside a centuries-old traditional house in Hoa Ninh Commune, Long Ho District, Vinh Long Province. The library was created by individuals dedicated to spreading a love of reading to local schoolchildren living on the river islets.

Continuing the vision of the founders, on July 7, six FPT University students organised a “Cham Sach” (“Touch the Books”) event here, bringing books and a passion for reading to children in Vinh Long province, in the Mekong Delta.

2. English-Learning Project for Hope School Students

“Hand in Hand to Go School” (or more commonly, “Hand in Hand to Go Global”) is a community project at FPT University (FPTU) in Vietnam. Since 2023, the project has been led by English Language lecturers and carried out directly by student volunteers from the ECF English Community. Organized annually, the project has taken place three times between 2023 and 2025.

The project not only helps students at Hope School improve their English skills, but also provides FPT University students with a refreshing and meaningful experiential learning environment. It fosters personal growth while allowing them to gain teaching experience, strengthen their knowledge, and further develop essential pedagogical skills.

In its early stages, ECF organized a series of exciting events, including in-depth workshops, talk shows, and experiential trips. These activities provided members with valuable opportunities to network, share knowledge, and engage in practical learning experiences.

To further expand English education, ECF launched the Hand-in-Hand to Go Global project, dedicated to teaching English at Hope School, a special school in Da Nang founded by FPT Corporation to support and educate children orphaned by the COVID-19 pandemic. Each year, the project reaches more than 200 students from grades 4 to 12 through nine different classes. For example, under the slogan ‘Go Global – Embrace International Integration’, the initiative helps students strengthen their English skills and broaden their access to future global career opportunities.

The Hand-in-Hand to Go Global classes were conducted weekly in the community space of Hope School. Each session was carefully designed by English Language students, with guidance from faculty members, ensuring engaging and easy-to-understand lessons. The modern teaching approach, blending theory with hands-on activities, made English learning more enjoyable for students. The project also focused on grammar, vocabulary, communication skills, and practical language application, making English more accessible and relevant to real-life situations.

A Mark of Success — A Journey of Spreading Knowledge

These projects not only focus on academic skills but also inspire passion and motivate students to continue practicing and developing themselves.

One of the key goals of FPT University’s community outreach programme is to expand its scale and reach more students, especially those in difficult circumstances.
