FPT University is committed and takes strong action to provide education that reaches the wider community beyond the campus, through many programs aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities) và SDG 17 (Partnership for the Goals).
1. Providing thousands of free Coursera online learning accounts for FPTU alumni
Coursera is an online learning platform offering internationally recognized academic courses. Learners can attend lectures delivered by leading professors and access curated materials from top universities around the world.
Courses on Coursera cover a wide range of trending topics such as digital literacy, entrepreneurship, English skills, artificial intelligence, and information technology. Upon completion, learners receive globally recognized certificates.
FPT University signed an MOU with Coursera to design the most suitable learning package for both internal and external learners in Vietnam. Since 2022, the university has offered thousands of free Coursera accounts for its alumni, enabling them to continue lifelong learning immediately after graduation.
the university has offered thousands of free

In 2024 alone, the university provided 2,701 free Coursera learning accounts to its alumni — 3.5 times higher than the number of accounts issued in 2023.
2. Community education programs of FPTU.
2a. IT students supporting digital transformation in 69 wards and communes of Da Nang
FPTU IT students from the Da Nang campus, along with students from other universities in the city, volunteered to participate in a local government program supporting the application of technology and digital transformation across 69 wards and communes. Their contributions assist two levels of local government operations.

FPTU students help local authorities and citizens by:
Guiding the use of management software, online public service systems, and common AI tools for administrative work;
Providing and instructing the use of Smart City, VNeID, and AI applications for businesses and residents;
Assisting in completing and processing administrative procedures for citizens and enterprises;
Troubleshooting technical problems related to computers, printers, and networks;
Supporting citizens at public administration centers with online applications, status tracking, digital signatures, and use of Da Nang’s digital platforms.
2b. Free weekly online english courses for the community
The ELF Speaking Club is an online English communication project organized by the English Language Department of FPTU Ho Chi Minh City. It operates every Sunday afternoon via Zoom and has been active for over three years since its launch in 2022.
To expand community engagement, the club has now developed into “ELF for Community.”

Across other FPTU campuses — including Hanoi, Quy Nhon, Ho Chi Minh City, and Can Tho — numerous educational outreach activities are also organized for local communities.
2c. Free vocational training for the community
FPT Education regularly organizes free vocational training programs for non-university learners, particularly local youth officers from wards and communes in Ho Chi Minh City who do not attend higher education.

The current program, titled “Digital Literacy for All”, introduces participants to artificial intelligence in the most accessible and practical way amid the AI boom — giving young people the chance to explore technologies that are transforming the world.
In addition, a free trial course on semiconductor technology was launched, offering an authentic vocational experience in semiconductor testing and circuit design.
The class provided participants with an overview from theory to application, enabling them to understand the design, simulation, and validation processes of microchips — from concept to final product. The lecturers’ passion and dedication created an inspiring and engaging learning environment.

3. For disadvantaged and displaced people.
The English tutoring program led by FPTU Da Nang volunteer students at Hope School has entered its third year.
Hope School, founded by FPT Corporation, is dedicated to children orphaned by the COVID-19 pandemic. Students from across Vietnam are brought to study at the Hope School campus in Da Nang.

Since 2023 to present, FPTU Da Nang lecturers and student volunteers have accompanied Hope School students through the “Hand in Hand to Go Global” project, organizing English tutoring sessions to improve their language skills and global readiness.
In 2024 alone, the group conducted 44 tutoring sessions, supporting 126 Hope School students.
Conclusion
These community outreach initiatives highlight FPT University’s role as a knowledge-sharing institution for society, extending far beyond its enrolled student population.
Through open learning opportunities, vocational training, AI and STEM programs, and targeted support for disadvantaged groups, FPTU exemplifies its mission of inclusive, lifelong, and socially impactful education.
