FPT UNIVERSITY’S LABOR UNION: SUPPORTING THE RIGHTS AND DEVELOPMENT OF FACULTY AND STAFF

1. Labor Union

FPT University’s Labor Union under FPT Corporation’s Labor Union has recognized to protect employee rights and social welfare policies in labor-management conferences and meetings.

On the afternoon of June 22, the 11th Congress of the Union for the 2023-2028 term was held, with the participation of over 100 union members and FPT Corporation’s staff. The congress took place in two sessions, internal and public, aiming to summarize, evaluate, and review activities from the past term and to elect a new Union Executive Committee for the 2023-2028 term. Additionally, the congress elected delegates to attend the 19th Union Congress of the Ministry of Science and Technology for the 2023-2028 term.

The event was attended by the FPT Deputy General Manager Nguyen The Phuong, the Standing Vice President of the Union of the Ministry of Science and Technology – Do Xuan Ngoc, the representative of the Ministry’s Union – Nguyen Khac Thai, the former executive committee, and delegates representing the FPT’s entire union membership.

The Congress session sequentially carried out three election activities: electing a new Executive Committee for the 2023-2028 term, delegates to attend the 19th Union Congress of the Ministry of Science and Technology, and alternate delegates for the higher-level Union Congress. The election process was conducted seriously, in the spirit of democracy and transparency.

As a result, the new Executive Committee consists of 13 representatives: Duong Thi Van Anh (FPT IS), Tran Thuy Duong (FPT Education), Tran Thi Thu Ha (FPT HO), Vu Thi Van Hai (FPT HO), Nguyen Khoa Dieu Hien (FPT Telecom), Duong Quynh Hoa (FPT HO), Vu Thi Thu Huyen (FPT Retail), Nguyen Thi Lan Huong (FPT Software), Trinh Thi Thuy Linh (FPT HO), Phan Phuoc Nhat (FPT Telecom), Nguyen Huu Phong (FPT Software), Phan Thi Ai Phuong (FPT Da Nang), Nguyen Thi Hai Van (FPT Software).

After the grassroots union congresses of FPT Corporation, the grassroots unions were officially recognized by the Board of FPT University and will operate for the 2023-2028 term.

2. Key Highlights of the Year

  • Honoring Women and Families

On the occasions of International Women’s Day (March 8) and Vietnamese Women’s Day (October 20), the Union organized a series of meaningful activities to honor the contributions of women within the FPT University community. The celebrations included appreciation ceremonies, interactive workshops on work–life balance, and creative contests that encouraged staff and students to express gratitude toward the women who inspire them every day.

In addition, to promote family bonding and well-being, the Union organized family events or arranged summer vacation for faculty and staff members together with their families, offering opportunities for relaxation, connection, and appreciation after a year of dedication and hard work.

  • Supporting Faculty and Staff in Need

In the face of storms and floods causing difficulties for many families, the Union (FE Union) is committed to providing timely support to faculty and staff members affected by these natural disasters. This initiative reflects the spirit of solidarity and compassion within the FPT Education community, ensuring that no member is left behind in times of difficulty.

  • Community Outreach: The FPT Education Union (FE Union) actively supports communities affected by storms and floods and organizes charity programs for children in remote mountainous areas, reflecting its strong commitment to compassion and social responsibility.
